Paint Days

Capture in watercolour a stunning moorland landscape in an enjoyable day out painting on the moors above Holmfirth, Yorkshire, with the international artist Ashley Jackson.

Whether you are a novice, an intermediate or you have never painted but you would like to start, Ashleys infectious enthusiasm for his love of painting and the moors around him will truly inspire you to pick up those brushes and start painting.

The day starts with you meeting Ashley in his Gallery in Holmfirth, in the heart of the Pennines, where he will introduce himself and his original watercolours to you. From there we will go up onto the moors above Holmfirth where you will watch him create one of his works, this enables you to gain a little insight into why Ashley paints in the style he has become so well known for, what makes him paint particular locations, the techniques he uses to capture in watercolour the scene. He will answer any queries and questions that you have regarding painting too.

After lunch you will then be given the opportunity to capture the scene for yourself, and Ashley will be there to help you with any questions or problems that you may be encountering.

After you have finished painting on the moors the paintings will be brought back down to the gallery where Ashley will individually critique you on your work.

The day commences at 9.15am and ends at 4.00pm. In this time you will find that you have gained much inspiration and information to encourage yourself to pick up your paints and go out into the open air and paint on location more often.

The paint days are on the 11th and 14th of May 2012. Price £160.00, including lunch.
