Announced today Ashley is honoured to be awarded with an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Huddersfield.

It is a fantastic announcement and one that Ashley is extremely proud to be recognised for his contribution to Arts over his 50 year career as a professional artist. He looks forward to not only representing the University but to working with the students.

As a secondary modern pupil who held tight to his ambition to be an artist, this is an unbelievable accolade, to be awarded by Academics for his passion for the Arts, Yorkshire and for his ambition to make art accessible to all.

Ashley will freely admit that art has not only been his passport to opportunities but as a young child it was his refuge and he wishes to inspire others to believe in their creativity and hold on to their dream, as can be seen from today's news dream big whose to say it wont come true.
