Paths Across the Pennines

I have traversed many a mile of the Pennine Way, and one of my favourite sections lies just above Holmfirth. I was inspired this day to capture the scene by the palings. They suggested to me a Jacobs Ladder, offering a light and pathway across a hostile moor.  It is upon this moor that you will experience the sensation of being on the roof of the world. 

My desire was to convey the feeling that although the moor may look lonely, nature offers much more for company, the sheep, the grouse, the skylark and the natural songs and rhythms of the moor.
